Chichen Itza – Forgotten glory

Mexico, Chichen Itzá, Yucatán. Mayan pyramid of Kukulcan El Castillo

Chichen Itza is one of the 7 (new) wonders of the world. Mayan culture.

The large complex is mainly hosting this pyramid, multiple stages for ceremonies, a playground, a palace, etc.

Built in about 9th century.

Most of the structures have crushed snakes carving, real human skulls were hosted earlier, and it’s carving – representing overpowering, killing of enemies.

Eagles and Jaguars are their sacred animals.

One of the stage is hosting Venus. Now that’s western interpretation, but linking it to Hindu history, Shukra was the guru of Asuras/Daitya. While Guru was the guru of Suras.

The main pyramid has a pyramid inside it and that has one more inside it. Possibly representing constructions by further powered generations later on. None of these are accessible to public.

The top pyramid has 91 steps and one at the top totalling 365 = days of the year. Remember the Mayan calendar which ended on 2012-Dec.

On the two equinox days of the year, the shadow of the top looks like a Snake coming down the stairs. The followers believe the Snake god will come out of the structure, win all enemies (or do something) and go down to the Patal lok.

Now, in our history, we do have similar descriptions… Patal lok is the kingdom of Takshak, which is the 4th layer below the ground which is Manav Lok. And if you cross Patal Lok, it’s the Daitya Lok there. Also, heard that India and America are on the opposite sides of the globe so if one diggs down below the Indian soil, would reach to Daitya Lok = America.

Mayan seems to be poojak of the Sun and Moon Gods.

Namimg and Shaming Indigenous customs continues

Accute lack of understanding of Indigenous customs represented again by national agencies.

Also, note how the tortures on the natives have been reduced to mere “hardships”:

“The older girl was buried with a large clay Aztec-style figurine depicting a female figure holding a child. Her skull showed signs of possible anemia, malnutrition or infection, signs that suggest life was hard for the Indigenous population in the years following the conquest.”

No criminal case; stuck on apology

Years went by, going by.

No sign of any criminal cases being filed. Media stuck over apology. 😔

“The Pope apologized for ‘deplorable abuses’ at residential schools when Indigenous delegations visited Rome in April, but the pontiff faced criticism for denouncing the conduct of some members of the Catholic Church, rather than taking responsibility for the role of the wider institution.

There is also concern in the First Nations community that the qualified apology did not address the issue of compensation, document disclosure or the extradition and prosecution of those known to have participated in abuse.”

Indigenous org demands renaming of places with name “Wolseley”

Excerpts from article –

##

Red River Echoes members stuck 300 posters around the neighbourhood, calling for the name of Gen. Garnet Wolseley be dropped from local streets and institutions.

Wolseley played a role in the violent 1870 overthrow of Louis Riel’s provisional government at the Red River Colony.

“It’s a continuous struggle to be able to reconcile with the fact that you’re living in a neighbourhood that has been named after someone who attempted to eradicate your kin,” said Chantale Garand, who is part of the group.

The posters say Wolseley “personally incited racism, violence, murder and displacement” and oversaw troops who raped and killed Indigenous people. It notes he was part of British colonial invasions in which atrocities took place, on numerous continents.
